Akwa Ibom APC Holds Successful Local Government Congresses

After a series of meetings, which held on Friday 11th May and Saturday, 12th May, 2018, stakeholders of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) affirmed their earlier claim of having resolved their differences, shortly before the party Ward Congresses last week (Saturday 5th May 2018).
Today, Saturday, 12th, May 2018, the Party agreed to work as a single cohesive unit with the collective purpose of wresting power from the ruling PDP in Akwa Ibom State in the 2019 elections.
In a press briefing, which held today, (Saturday, May 12, 2018), at the Party Sectetariat along Atiku Abubakar Way, Uyo, before the Chapter Congresses, stakeholders of the Party in the State, including Senator Ita Enang , Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, Senator Nelson Effiong, Senator Aloysius Etok, Dr Rachel Akpabio, Hon Emmanuel Ekpenyong, Engr Ben Ukpong and Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh, amongst others spoke in one accord, stressing the unity of the APC, and urged the Press not to misrepresent the fact of a united APC for any reason.
They urged their supporters to rally together and uphold the successful reconciliation and peace effort members had achieved, asserting the need for President Muhammadu Buhari to be reelected for a second term, and for the Akwa Ibom Hilltop Mansion official residence of the Governor to be occupied by an APC Governor.
There was a mood of satisfaction and joy after the successful congresses, as Party faithfuls were seen in clusters celebrating the conduct of the exercise, renewing strained relationships, and establishing new ties.
