…Lauds Udom, Akpabio, Ors on his emergence as Nat. Legal Adviser

The National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem Tuesday night reiterated the resolve of the party leadership to engender reforms and build alliances that would facilitate her promise of returning the country to the path of prosperity as it positions to reclaim the center in 2019.

Barr. Enoidem made this known in a post convention dinner for friends, associates, stakeholders and supporters who thronged his residence in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he acknowledged the massive home support he enjoyed throughout the period of the contest.

Citing the successful hosting of the PDP national convention in Abuja as the right step at restoring the party’s electoral fortunes and regaining the confidence of Nigerians, Enoidem assured that the ongoing national reconciliation by stakeholders of the party is to ensure all Nigerians were involved in the struggle to engender the return of a people-oriented government.

Promising due discharge of his responsibilities, he commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for his steadfastness and encouragement, recalling various sacrifices the governor made in encouraging him, which he noted were unwavering even in the face of unfolding events like the protracted legal battles that preceded the convention, which could have informed a change of plan.

Describing Governor Emmanuel as a detribalized leader, the legal luminary emphasized that the governor’s strength of character and honesty was exemplary and rare in the nation’s political firmament, positing that only his kind was fit to lead the state to greatness and called on the people to close ranks and support his second term ambition.

Lauding the contributions of the Senate Minority Leader Chief Godswill Akpabio, to his emergence and the successful conduct of the 2017 convention, the party’s law officer remarked that the former governor’s patriotism to the Nigerian project is unmatched, while thanking him for leading members of the National Assembly caucus to support him and other members of the new party executive.

He appreciated the State Party Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo, for standing by him and leading him to State Chairmen of the party across the country during the campaigns, promising never to betray the confidence the leadership of the party in the state have reposed in him.

The National Legal Adviser warned politicians in the state to desist from undue suspicion and distrust as such was capable of truncating the progress the state was already making and assured of his readiness to join hands in helping the party accomplish the expectation of the Nigerian masses.

Thanking the leadership of the party in the state and the political class for allowing Barr. Enoidem a chance to contribute his quota to the party at the national level, Sir Emem Akpabio, who spoke on behalf of his friends and associates, promised their continued support to the PDP, which he said was the only platform that allows everyone equal opportunity.
