Akwa Ibom APC Launches LG Council Election Campaign Tuesday Nov 14, VP Osinbajo to grace the occasion
The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will formally flag-off its campaign for the Local Government election on Tuesday, November 14th 2017, according to a press statement released and signed by the Publicity Secretary of the party.
The elaborate event will hold at Obong Nsima Ekere’s Recreation Ground along Edet Akpan Avenue, 4 lane Uyo. Nsima Ekere is the current Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The Vice President of the Federation, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will be the Special Guest of honour. Other dignitaries expected at the event are His Excellency, Rochas Okorocha, Imo State governor and Chairman of Progressives Governors Forum; His Excellency, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, National Chairman of APC, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, National Secretary, Sen. Osita Isunazu, National Organizing Secretary, Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Ntufam Hiliard Eta, National Vice Chairman, South South; Atuekong Chief Don Etiebet, Obong Umana Okon Umana, Obong Nsima Ekere, MD, NDDC, Sen. Ita Enang SSA to the President , Engr. Ben Ukpong, Federal Commissioner, NPC, Chief Ita Awak, Director NCAA and other chieftains, stakeholders and members of the party from across the state.
The APC campaign launch will mark a significant mile stone in the history of opposition politics in the state with specific reference to Local Government elections being the first time an opposition Party has fielded candidates in all the electoral positions in the election. The APC Local Government Election flag-off is a bold statement to other contending Parties that APC is prepared and ready for the contest. We intend by this exercise to announce the presence of our Great Party and to reach out to millions of our supporters and the Akwa Ibom electorate with the message of CHANGE.
The hallmark of our campaign is rooted in the sterling qualities and performance of the Buhari administration based on his scorecard in the 3point agenda of security, economic rejuvenation and war on corruption. “The success story of APC Administration is a clear indication that the Party is indeed a transformational movement, says Amadu Attai, the state party Chairman”.
