All is now set for the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom Oil and Gas Training and Research center.
A letter signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Nse Udo Essien indicates that the event which is in agreement with Halliburton- one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry is billed for the 9th November, 2017 at the Ibom E- Library which would serve as the training center.
Speaking on the economic benefit of the training to Akwa Ibom State Dr. Nse Essien said apart from checking capital flight, it would help boost the state’s internally generated revenue, since according to him Oil companies operating in Nigeria will no longer spend billions of Naira annually to retain their staff outside the country.
The commissioner listed the courses to include:
i. Integrated Geosciences
ii. Field Development planning solutions
iii. Drilling and completions Engineering
iv. Reservoir management and Engineering
v. Production optimization and engineering solutions
vi. Digital official solutions
vii. Digital pipeline monitoring
viii. Well intervention solutions
ix. E & P Data management platform solutions
x. Executive management and business leadership development
xiii. Wielding and Plumbing
xiv. Electrical Technology
xv. Mechanical Technology
xvi. Software Engineering
He said the event would be officially inaguarated by the state Governor, His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
By this notice, the commissioner is therefore inviting the Deputy Governor, the Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, The State Chief Judge, Secretary to the State Government, Head of civil service and members of the state executive council.
Also invited are the members of Akwa Ibom State House of assembly, Vice Chancellor of all Nigerian Universities, Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals and the general public to the event.
